Exploring and illuminating the human intellect through philosophy, history, and the human sciences.
Matteo Collodel
I am an intellectual historian working at the intersection of philosophy, history, and the social sciences. My research centres on the history and philosophy of science in the twentieth century, with a particular focus on logical empiricism, critical rationalism, and the life and work of Paul Feyerabend, alongside excursions into local and family history.
Trained as a social anthropologist and philosopher at Ca' Foscari University of Venice — where I earned my MA and PhD in philosophy — I pursued further research in the history of the philosophy of science at the Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Vienna, with an interlude as a high-school teacher of philosophy and history.
I am currently the principal investigator of Against Authority: Paul K. Feyerabend's Life and Thought, a research project based at the Institute Vienna Circle, University of Vienna, and a subject expert in logic and philosophy of science at Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
